Welcome to the wildlife page of the Alresford Greening Campaign. The AGC has set up a group to facilitate wildlife projects within the town. The plants, animals, and their habitats are considered to be the ‘biodiversity’ of our local area.
Protecting, restoring and enhancing the ‘biodiversity’ around our community is one way we can prepare our natural environment to cope with future climate change.
The UN declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB). Throughout the year countless initiatives will be organized to disseminate
information, promote the protection of biodiversity and encourage organizations, institutions, companies and individuals to take direct action to reduce the constant loss of biological diversity worldwide.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well that was the end of the first decade of the 21st Century. Its new year's day and the family went for a nice walk down to the eel house, up way farers walk, past fob down farm, down to Old Alresford, back along mill lane and into town.
It was cold but lovely views across the river and wider countryside. Plenty of robins, chaffinches, a kestrel, and the highlight a trio of little egrets along the water cress beds at Mill Lane.
